RIYADH-SABA

The spokesman for the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki al-Maliki, said the escalating attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia and its attempts to target Saudi Arabia, its national assets, citizens and residents represented a dangerous escalation reflecting the group's hostile and irresponsible conduct.

In a statement posted on X, al-Maliki said the militia's latest attacks targeted civilian and economic facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran, injuring 73 civilians, including women and children.

He described the attacks as a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a direct threat to the security and safety of citizens and residents, adding that the militia was deliberately targeting the Kingdom's national assets, infrastructure and civilian facilities.

Al-Maliki said the attacks further demonstrated the militia's extremist and criminal behaviour and its rejection of efforts to achieve peace and stability in Yemen and the wider Arab and Islamic region.

He affirmed that the Coalition's Joint Forces Command would take all necessary operational measures to deter the Houthi militia and confront its hostile actions firmly, while taking the necessary steps to eliminate sources of threat and neutralise their danger.
