Minister of State for Women's Affairs, Dr. Ahd Jaasous discussed Monday with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China Zhao Zheng, to discuss ways to strengthen joint cooperation in the fields of women's empowerment, supporting women's participation in development and peacebuilding.
The meeting reviewed areas of cooperation in the economic, developmental, and political fields, as well as opportunities to expand programs that enhance the capacities of Yemeni women and enable them to play an active role across various sectors, thereby strengthening their contribution to recovery, development, and stability efforts.
During the meeting, Minister Jaasous emphasized the importance of deepening the partnership with the People's Republic of China and benefiting from its development expertise and experience in implementing high-quality programs and projects targeting women.
She noted that the government places great importance on empowering women and strengthening their participation in public life and decision-making to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
For his part, the Chinese Embassy's Chargé d'Affaires reaffirmed his country's commitment to strengthening its relations with the Republic of Yemen and expanding prospects for bilateral cooperation on women's issues in a manner that supports development efforts, improves living conditions and advances sustainable development goals.
