Minister of State for Women's Affairs Discusses Outcomes of Women's Summits

The Minister of State for Women's Affairs, Dr. Ahd Ja'asous, met today in the interim capital, Aden, with representatives of the Women's Summits to discuss the outcomes of the summits, from the first summit to the eighth summit held in September 2025, and ways to enhance their utilization in supporting women's issues and empowering them in various fields.

Minister Ja'asous emphasized the commitment to integrating women into the plans and programs of the Ministry and relevant government agencies.

She noted that the recommendations of the eighth Women's Summit and the Aden Declaration reflect the significant efforts exerted by Yemeni women in assessing the realities facing women and formulating practical solutions that contribute to strengthening their developmental and economic role.

She explained that the ministry is working to expand women's participation in peace processes and decision-making to at least 30 percent, in addition to facilitating the work of women's organizations and removing administrative obstacles facing women in the governorates. She also mentioned ongoing coordination with donors and development partners to ensure direct funding for women's initiatives on the ground.

In a related context, the Minister of State for Women's Affairs met today in Aden with a number of women entrepreneurs. They discussed ways to enhance women's role in the economic sphere and expand their participation in investment and development activities, thereby contributing to improving the living conditions of families and communities.

The meeting addressed the most prominent challenges facing women in the business sector, the needs of women entrepreneurs in the areas of financing, training, and capacity building, as well as strengthening partnerships between government agencies, the private sector, and institutions that support women's economic empowerment.
