MUKALLA-SABA
Salem Al-Khanbashi, member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramout, on Tuesday reviewed the conditions of the National Center for Central Public Health Laboratories in Mukalla, along with efforts to strengthen community reconciliation and improve public service delivery in the governorate.
During a meeting with Dr. Ameen Basabaeen, director of the center, al-Khanbashi received a briefing on its operations and the laboratory and diagnostic services it provides to residents of Hadramout and neighboring governorates.
The meeting also highlighted the center’s role in supporting the healthcare system and enhancing testing and public health monitoring.
The discussions addressed the center’s renovation and rehabilitation needs, as well as requirements for upgrading the food and water testing departments with modern equipment and technical resources to strengthen public health safeguards and ensure food and water safety.
Al-Khanbashi stressed the local authority’s commitment to supporting the health sector and developing the infrastructure of medical and laboratory facilities, noting the strategic role of the public health laboratories as a key institution serving citizens across the region.
In a separate meeting, al-Khanbashi met with local dignitaries Ahmed Hassan Al-Mahdar and Mohammed bin Salem Al-Jailani, members of the reconciliation committee in Hadramout, to discuss several community-related issues affecting residents in the districts of Doan and Al-Dhalea.
The meeting reviewed ongoing efforts to address local disputes and reinforce social harmony and cooperation between residents of the two districts.
Al-Khanbashi reaffirmed the local authority’s support for reconciliation efforts and the promotion of tolerance and social solidarity, praising the role played by tribal and community leaders in resolving disputes, narrowing differences, and helping preserve security and stability in the governorate.
