The Republic of Yemen participated on Tuesday in the high-level Media and Think Tank Forum for Global South countries, held as part of the China-Arab Partnership Conference in Cairo. The event is organized by the League of Arab States in cooperation with Xinhua News Agency.
The forum was inaugurated by the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the President of Xinhua News Agency, Fu Hua.
Held from May 12 to 13, the forum brings together around 150 participants from China and Arab countries, including senior government officials, media professionals, researchers, representatives of regional and international organizations, business leaders, and other prominent figures.
Yemen is represented by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Hussein Basaleem, and Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief of Yemen News Agency (Saba), Abdullah Hizam.
The forum is discussing a number of issues aimed at promoting convergence and integration, while strengthening ties of friendship between China and the Arab world. Sessions focus on opportunities to establish new international communication channels between Arab and Chinese media, mechanisms for sharing emerging opportunities in technology and digital transformation, and the role of media institutions and think tanks in supporting peace and development.
The event also provides an important platform to review successful models of China-Arab cooperation projects, explore future opportunities for collaboration, and enhance direct communication and exchange of expertise among participants.
