The Republic of Yemen participated today in the deliberations of the tenth session of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Dialogue, held in the Indian capital New Delhi.
The Minister of State Walead al-Qudaimi contributed to the forum's discussions, highlighting Yemen's interest in the security and stability of the Indian Ocean, underlining the importance of joining efforts and collective action to protect the international shipping lanes.
Al-Qudaimi stated that the Republic of Yemen is looking forward to promote joint cooperation in vital sectors, mainly maritime security, economic and commercial cooperation, capacity building and training, developing the efficiency of coast guard forces.
He also underscored the importance of cooperation and partnerships in the businesses of the blue economy, the development of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, the development of port infrastructure, combating climate change, utilizing technology and innovation, and achieving sustainable development.
