His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met today, Sunday, with the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Mohsen Taleb and the Heads of judicial bodies including the Chief of the Supreme Court, Judge Dr. Ali al-Awsh, the Minister of Justice, Judge Badr al-Aradah and the Attorney General, Qaher Mostafa.
The President restated that judiciary has a key role to play to sustain the government's ongoing reforms program, describing it as the true guarantor of the sustainability of any reform.
His Excellency underscored the importance of close coordination between the Judiciary Council and the executive and legislative authorities to achieve the public interest.
President al-Alimi reiterated that the judiciary represents the first line of defense against corruption and the most important instrument for strengthening public confidence in state institutions and enhancing their presence at all levels.
The Chairman of the PLC emphasized that unifying the security and military decision constitutes a strategic turning point to enable the judiciary to perform its duties.
He stated that the authority of the state begins with the integration of the relationship between law enforcement authorities, ending manifestations of duplication and institutional dysfunction.
The President praised the significant efforts exerted by the security services to assist the judiciary, control and chase terrorist elements, dismantle sabotage cells and thwart plans aimed at targeting social peace and undermining security and stability
