Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq al-Sharjabi underscored the importance of water agreements as a comprehensive strategic framework to boost water security in conflict-affected countries and achieve sustainability in the water sector through building effective partnerships and developing policies and legislations that support the sustainable management of water resources.
He voiced his statement during his contribution today, Saturday, to a high-level session on knowledge exchange to advance the water sector: a discussion on water agreements, held on the sidelines of the Spring meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in Washington.
A number of international experts and decision-makers engaged in the deliberations.
