The Minister of Public Works and Roads Eng. Hussein al-Aqrabi discussed Friday with Japanese Ambassador to Yemen Yoichi Nakashima ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support road projects in Yemen.
The two sides reviewed prospects for expanding Japanese support for road projects in a manner that would help rehabilitate the road network, improve its efficiency, facilitate transportation and trade and support the path of economic development.
Minister al-Aqrabi affirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening partnership with the Japanese side, praising Japan’s support to Yemen in various fields, particularly road projects, which represent a key pillar for improving services and enhancing connectivity between governorates and vital areas.
For his part, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to continue supporting Yemen and to enhance technical and financial cooperation in priority infrastructure projects in line with the needs of the current phase and in support of sustainable development.
