[11/04/2026 03:27]

MUKALLA - SABA
The Coast Guard Authority has successfully seized two traditional boats that were loaded with large quantities of fuel stored in plastic containers, in clear violation of maritime laws and regulations.

In a statement to the Security Media Center, the Coast Guard Authority said that the seizure operation revealed that the two boats carried no official documents or legal registration.

They also had no fishing nets, equipment or fish on board.

It added that preliminary investigation results indicated the crews of the two boats were involved in human trafficking and smuggling activities.

They have been detained and referred to the relevant authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.

The Coast Guard Authority urged all fishermen across its three sectors (Gulf of Aden, Red Sea and Arabian Sea) to register their boats, obtain official documentation from the nearest Coast Guard centers.

The authority also called fishermen to avoid engaging in any illegal activities to ensure their safety and to enhance the security and stability of maritime navigation.
