President al-Alimi praises deep-rooted relations with Kuwait

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received Thursday the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, Falah al-Hajraf on the occasion of the end of his tenure as ambassador of his brotherly country to the Republic of Yemen.

President al-Alimi affirmed the depth of the distinguished fraternal relations between the Republic of Yemen and the State of Kuwait, and the shared commitment to strengthening and developing them across various fields.

He also commended Kuwait’s honorable positions in support of Yemen, its political leadership, and its generous humanitarian and development interventions that have helped alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments, foremost among them the military escalation in the region and the blatant Iranian attacks on the sovereignty of several brotherly countries, in clear violation of the United Nations Charter and the rules of international law, as well as their serious repercussions on international peace and security.

His Excellency the President reiterated the Republic of Yemen’s rejection of these attacks and its full solidarity with its brothers in Kuwait and other countries in the region, affirming its support for all measures they take to protect their security, sovereignty, and the safety of their citizens.

The President also praised the defensive capabilities of the State of Kuwait and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, emphasizing the importance of strengthening close coordination to confront shared regional challenges.

For his part, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President, praising the level of bilateral relations and affirming his country’s commitment to continuing its support for Yemen and its people, as well as enhancing joint cooperation in various fields.
