His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) underscored the importance of maintaining maximum pressure on the Iranian regime and its proxies to ensure the security of waterways in a sustainable manner through enhanced bilateral cooperation, strict enforcement of sanctions, choking off funding networks, controlling weapons smuggling and dismantling its militias.

His remark came during his talks today, Tuesday, with the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

His Excellency highlighted the importance of supporting the Yemeni state to assert its control over the entire national territory.

The conversations covered Yemen-American robust relations, recent developments in the national and regional arenas, including the unprecedented military escalation in the region.

They also discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation for confronting security and terrorist threats, securing international navigation routes, supporting the government's efforts to achieve economic and institutional stability, restoring state institutions and eliminating the Iranian backed Houthi militias coup d'état.

The Chairman of the PLC expressed deep gratitude for the U.S. administration's firm positions towards the Iranian regime and its terrorist militias and for deterring its threats that destabilize the security and stability of Yemen and the region.

The President reiterated the Republic of Yemen's condemnation of Iran's heinous attacks on its sovereignty and territories of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the countries of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the rest of the countries of the region.
