Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council Chairman, Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, met with US President's Senior Adviser for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations, Yemen's recent developments, and US support for strengthening state institutions, economic recovery, and humanitarian aid. Al-Alimi emphasized the need for US support to counter the Iranian-backed Houthi militia and enhance cooperation in counter-terrorism.

The President expressed appreciation for the US role in supporting Yemen's stability and sovereignty, highlighting the importance of protecting international navigation in the Red Sea. He called for continued US support, including accelerating development and humanitarian programs, and strengthening the government's capacity to maintain currency stability and secure basic services.

Al-Alimi stressed that protecting Yemen's state is a regional and international security issue, emphasizing the Iranian threat and the need for pressure on Tehran to end its influence in the region.
