Prime Minister Receives UNDP Resident Representative to Yemen

Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani received on Monday the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Yemen, Zena Ali Ahmed.

The meeting reviewed the process of reframing the partnership between the Yemeni government and the UNDP in line with the government’s priority agenda, including support for institutional reform, anti-corruption efforts, pension system reform, and the continuation of the comprehensive reform program.

Prime Minister Zindani affirmed that the government, with the support of the Presidential Leadership Council, will focus on rebuilding state institutions, strengthening governance, enhancing public administration efficiency, and linking international support to measurable outcomes that directly impact citizens’ lives.

He stressed that institutional reform and combating corruption constitute two core pillars of the government’s priorities.

He also highlighted the government’s keenness to reassess its relations with UN agencies and programs to ensure unified approaches, maximize development impact, and build future partnerships based on respect for government priorities and national plans, while reinforcing principles of transparency and accountability.
