Coalition Conducts Limited Airstrike on Weapons Shipment at Yemen's Mukalla Port
[30/12/2025 01:38]
Riyadh-Saba
The Saudi-led coalition conducting military operations in Yemen announced on Tuesday that it had carried out a "limited" airstrike targeting weapons and combat vehicles unloaded at the port of Mukalla in Hadramout province.

The coalition's spokesperson, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, said the strike was in response to the arrival of two ships carrying weapons and combat vehicles without permission from the coalition's joint forces command. The ships had disabled their tracking systems and unloaded the cargo to support the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in eastern Yemen, he added.

Al-Maliki stated that the coalition had received a request from Yemen's President Rashad al-Alimi to take necessary military measures to protect civilians in Hadramout and Al-Mahra provinces. The airstrike was carried out in accordance with international humanitarian law and customary rules to minimize collateral damage.

The coalition reiterated its commitment to reducing escalation and imposing a ceasefire in Hadramout and Al-Mahra, and preventing any military support to Yemeni factions without coordination with the legitimate government and the coalition.
