Oil rises in early Asian trading

Oil prices rose up nearly a dollar in early Asian trading today, Thursday, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ban on the entry and exit of oil tankers to and from Venezuela.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 98 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $56.89, after initially rising more than a full dollar.
Brent crude rose 92 cents, or 1.54 percent, to $60.60 per barrel.
