Marib Deputy Governor Discusses “Kanaf” Project with Yamani Foundation
[02/12/2025 05:45]

MARIB – SABA
The Deputy Governor of Marib Dr. Abdu Rabbu Miftah met Tuesday with Dr. Anas Saif, the Programs and Projects Director at the Yamani Foundation.

The two parties discussed the winter clothing project “Kanaf,” which the foundation will implement with funding from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

During the meeting—which included the Director of the Office of Planning and International Cooperation, Saleh al-Sakkaf and the Assistant Director of the Executive Unit for IDP Camp Management Dr. Khaled al-Shajni—Dr. Miftah listened to a briefing from the Programs Director about the project.

The initiative aims to help beneficiaries from internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities withstand the winter cold by providing high-quality winter clothing.

He explained that the project, which will be implemented over three months, targets 8,340 beneficiaries from IDPs and host communities.

It follows specific standards regarding the size and quality of the winter kit, as well as criteria for selecting the most vulnerable and needy beneficiaries, which are being set in partnership with the Executive Unit for IDP Camp Management and the governorate’s Office of Planning and International Cooperation.

Dr. Miftah emphasized the importance of the project, which will alleviate the suffering of beneficiaries facing harsh winter conditions amid extremely difficult humanitarian and living circumstances for both IDPs and the host community.

He stressed the need to prioritize the most vulnerable and needy families, given the significant demand for winter assistance, and called on humanitarian partners for urgent interventions to support IDPs and the host community in the governorate.
