Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik received on Monday in the interim capital Aden a delegation from Doctors Without Borders (MSF) headed by the organization's country director.
During the meeting, they discussed the organization's medical and humanitarian interventions in a number of governorates, prospects for strengthening partnership with the government to address the worsening health challenges, as well as the projects it is implementing and future plans.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the organization's delegation, praising the great efforts made by its medical and relief teams in providing life-saving services, and the pivotal role they play in supporting hospitals and health facilities, and alleviating pressure on the national health system, which is facing exceptional challenges as a result of the war and its repercussions.
The Prime Minister affirmed the government's keenness to provide all possible facilitations for the work of the organization and international organizations working in the health and humanitarian field, to ensure that aid and medical services reach those who deserve them safely and effectively.
He expressed his aspiration to enhance coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population to ensure integrated efforts, unified priorities, and defined interventions according to urgent needs.
For their part, the organization's delegation reviewed its current interventions in the areas of medical emergencies, reproductive health, maternal and child care, and the treatment of conflict-related injuries.
