Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Tariq Saleh discussed Wednesday with the U.S. chargé d'affaires in Yemen latest developments in Yemen and the region, the path of economic reforms, and the security of navigation in the Red Sea.

They also discussed integrated efforts to counter the smuggling of Iranian arms to the Houthi militias.

Tariq Saleh reviewed the efforts of the National Resistance and other national forces in deterring these acts of smuggling, highlighting a significant operation that resulted in the seizure of 750 tons of Iranian weapons in the Red Sea.

For his part, the U.S. official praised the operation, reaffirming his country's support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and the Central Bank of Yemen in achieving economic stability.
