Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Waed Badhib, chaired an expanded meeting in Aden to discuss strategic issues related to the development of the telecommunications sector.
The meeting, attended by heads of institutions, authorities, and companies under the ministry, focused on several key areas, including the preparation of a comprehensive plan to transfer revenue from ministry institutions to the interim capital, Aden, and determining the number of subscribers to various telecommunications services.
The participants also discussed increasing the capacity of submarine cables, attracting new investors, and developing an integrated action plan to enhance administrative, technical, and financial work in mobile phone companies operating in liberated areas.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed ways to develop revenue collection mechanisms and direct them to the Central Bank, imposing strict controls on revenue management. Several projects submitted to the Prime Minister's office for approval were also discussed.
Minister Badhib emphasized the importance of integrated efforts and teamwork to achieve targeted reforms and improve the quality of services provided to citizens. He highlighted the need for collective work to address challenges and develop the telecommunications sector.
