Defense Minister Major General Dr. Mohsen al-Daeri discussed Thursday with British Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif latest developments in security and military situations and ways to enhance cooperation in training and qualification.
The Defense Minister emphasized the deep relations between the two friendly countries in various fields, particularly in defense and security, and securing Yemen's coasts.
He stressed the necessity of strengthening the Yemeni Navy and Coast Guard with the necessary equipment and technologies to enable them to perform their duties in combating smuggling and protecting the extensive Yemeni coastlines.
General al-Daeri confirmed the ongoing Iranian system's smuggling of weapons and drones to the Houthi terrorist militia, including the recent seized shipment at the Port of Aden days ago by the Coast Guard and the Counter-Terrorism Unit in cooperation with security and military agencies, the Public Prosecution, and the Customs Authority, in addition to the shipment captured by the National Resistance.
For her part, the British Ambassador reiterated her country's support for Yemen and its leadership, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to achieve security and stability.
