Al-Wadiah Border's Security foils smuggling of 13,000 captagon pills
[06/07/2025 07:00]

AL-WADIAH - SABA
The Security and Protection Battalion at al-Wadiah border thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic pills amounting to 13,750 Captagon tablets while trying to smuggle them into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a truck coming from the capital, Sana'a, which is under the control of the terrorist Houthi militia.

The battalion Commander Brigadier General Amr Mahmoud al-Azab explained to the Yemeni News Agency that when the truck arrived at the checkpoint known as the "Weapons Point," it raised the suspicions of the personnel there, thanks to their high skills, competence and constant vigilance.

This prompted them to conduct a thorough inspection of the truck, revealing the prohibited materials despite attempts to conceal them effectively.

He noted that the prohibited items were seized along with the driver, and after taking the necessary legal measures, they were referred to the competent authorities to complete the legal proceedings.

He highlighted the ongoing and repeated achievements of the battalion members at the checkpoint in thwarting numerous smuggling attempts of various types of drugs, the latest being the foiling of the smuggling of over one million narcotic tablets last month, which were hidden inside a refrigerated truck coming from areas controlled by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

Brigadier General al-Azab affirmed that the battalion members are in a state of full readiness and continuous vigilance to fulfill their national duty in protecting the homeland and firmly confronting smuggling attempts, regardless of their various methods and means.
