A meeting was held in Aden, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhayb, to discuss population estimates in accordance with the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) in Yemen.
The meeting, attended by representatives from relevant ministries, the Central Statistical Organization, and UN agencies, including OCHA, FAO, and WFP, reviewed preparations for updating population estimates and food insecurity data.
The participants emphasized the importance of providing accurate and unified population estimates at the governorate level to ensure effective humanitarian response planning and prioritization of interventions. They also stressed the need for coordination between official bodies and humanitarian partners to ensure that population data aligns with international standards.
