Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, the Acting Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Dr. Waed Badhib discussed with the UAE Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed al-Zaabi on Saturday ways to enhance bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
During the meeting, the two parties addressed several issues of mutual interest, focusing on developing cooperation in renewable energy, communications, investments, and the support provided by the UAE to Yemen.
They also discussed vital projects backed by the UAE in Yemen, particularly in renewable energy, infrastructure, health, education, water and humanitarian relief.
They touched upon ways to strengthen cooperation in communications and information technology, as well as the potential to benefit from the advanced Emirati expertise in this field, which would contribute to developing Yemen's digital infrastructure.
The minister and the ambassador discussed mechanisms to enhance Emirati investments in Yemen and create a suitable environment to attract more investments across various economic sectors.
Dr. Badhib expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the pivotal role played by the UAE in supporting Yemen, praising the humanitarian and developmental assistance provided in various fields, which has significantly alleviated the suffering of the Yemeni people.
"We highly value the generous support offered by the UAE to the Yemeni people, and we look forward to strengthening this strategic partnership to serve the interests of both brotherly countries."
He added, the UAE's projects in the renewable energy sector have set an exemplary standard, contributing to the improvement of essential services and providing electricity to many Yemeni areas, positively impacting the lives of citizens.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation reiterated his profound thanks to the UAE—its leadership, government and people for their noble positions towards Yemen.
For his part, the UAE Ambassador affirmed his country's commitment to continue supporting Yemen and its people in various fields, stemming from the historical brotherly relations between the two countries.
He noted that the UAE will remain a key supporter of Yemen in its journey towards stability and development.
