The Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak underscored the pressing need for greater role by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to assist the government's efforts to address the motherhood and childhood challenges.
" We're looking forward to more interventions from the UNFPA to back the government's ongoing efforts to improve health care services, reproductive health and health sector facilities", he said.
During his talks today, Tuesday, with the Representative of the UNFPA in Yemen Enshrah Mohammed, Dr. bin Mubarak greatly valued the significant interventions of the UNFPA during the previous period.
Bin Mubarak's conversations with Enshrah focused on the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the government and the UNFPA.
The Prime Minister sought for the UNFPA's support for the Central Organizations for Statistics (COS) to enable it doing its job sufficiently and professionally.
The UNFPA's official cited the interventions of the Fund in the past, its future plans and the ongoing coordination between the two Ministries of Social Affairs and Labor and Youth and Supports.
