The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. Secretary General of Local Council in the governorate of al-Mahra Salem Naymer highlighted the need to more substantial assistance by the UNDP to improve fishery businesses in the governorate which largely depends on fishery." Al-Mahra has got a seashore extends for 550 km and it heavily depends on fishery sector with 70 percent", said Naymer.

His remark came during his discussions today, Tuesday, with a visiting delegation of the UNDP headed by the technical advisor Tom Thorgod and the team-leader of the Economic and Development Recovery Meckili Dipendito.

The conversations covered topics relating to the fishery businesses, fishermen' needs and the fishery businesses requirements to improve fishing production and exports.
