King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's Demining Project in Yemen, known as" MASAM" managed to remove 5653 of landmines, unexploded ordnances (UXO) and improvised explosive devices (IED) from the beginning of July until the 24th of the month.

Mahra Senior officials seek greater intervention by UNDP in fishery

Secretary General of Local Council in the governorate of al-Mahra Salem Naymer highlighted the need to more substantial assistance by the UNDP to improve fishery businesses in the governorate which largely depends on fishery." Al-Mahra has got a seashore extends for 550 km and it heavily depends on fishery sector with 70 percent", said Naymer.

His remark came during his discussions today, Tuesday, with a visiting delegation of the UNDP headed by the technical advisor Tom Thorgod and the team-leader of the Economic and Development Recovery Meckili Dipendito.

The conversations covered topics relating to the fishery businesses, fishermen' needs and the fishery businesses requirements to improve fishing production and exports.
