Health Minister launches emergency cholera immunization campaign in Aden

The Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaybeh launched today, Thursday, in the interim capital Aden, the emergency immunization campaign against cholera.

The immunization campaign aims to vaccinate 3 million and 837 thousand and 767 people aged one year and above in 34 districts in 6 government-held governorates.

Some 7 thousand of health workers are going to carry out the immunization operation from house to house distributed over 3,820 health teams.

The vaccination operation is set to be launched in the other government-held governorates next Saturday to continue until Thursday.

The Minister described this campaign is an important step within the course of the rapid health response to face the challenges posed by the cholera outbreak in some areas.
