ADEN – SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi conducted a phone conversation with Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak to review with him the latest developments in the economic and service situation, especially the drastic changes in currency exchange rates, the effect of that on basic commodities, and government efforts to speed up the economic rescue plan.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council was briefed by the Prime Minister on the procedures taken to shore up the position of the currency, deter currency speculators, control prices of services and basic commodities, and protect local products and industries.
Al-Alimi was also briefed on the procedures to improve the efficiency of the performance of power generation plants, reduce frequent power outages, and ensuring the continued flow of the necessary fuel from Hadhramaut and Marib governorates to operate government plants. President al-Alimi noted the policies taken to mitigate the human suffering worsened by the Houthi militia's terror attacks - with backing from the Iranian regime - on oil facilities and international shipping lines.
He asserted the importance of stepping up efforts to implement the decisions and recommendations of the Presidential Leadership Council, especially as to improving the state's access to its resources in all governorates.
