Hodeida Local Authority condemns forcefully displacement of the villagers in coastal districts
[13/11/2024 02:31]
HODEIDADA-SABA
The Local Authority in Hodeida governorate condemned the forced displacement carried out by the Iranian regime backed Houthi terrorist militias of the villagers of a number of villages in the coastal districts south and north of the governorate since the end of last October.

The local authority said in a statement today, Wednesday, that the Houthi militias forced over the past couple of days the residents of five villages south of al-Jarrah district, comprising 350 families, or about 1,750 people, to evacuate their homes at gunpoint, to start the development, digging tunnels and building military fortifications in those residential areas.

The fellow citizens of these villages are homeless now after being forcibly displaced from their homes, farms and sources of livelihood, in light of the disregard and silence applied by local and international human rights organizations towards these practices and flagrant violations, according to the local authority statement

The Terrorist Houthi militiamen also are blamed for similar displacements against hundreds of residents of the coastal city of al-Mashhad, located on the outskirts of the city of Hodeida and affiliated with al-Hawk district, where the Houthi terrorist militias built a wall around the city, which has a population of approximately 4,500 people, closed all ports and roads leading to it, and forced its residents to displace.

Earlier this year, the Houthi terrorist militias displaced the inhabitants of the village of al-Daqawneh, located on the main line linking Haradh-Hodeida in Bajil district, which has a population of 70 families, or some 350 people, furthermore, turning the fish port of al-Khouba in al-Lahiya district into a closed military zone after preventing fishermen from docking their boats and practicing their fish activity.
