The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Salem al-Soqotri and the Governor of the Socotra Archipelago, Ra'afat al-Theqali inaugurated Monday the projects implemented in the office of the Fisheries Authority - the Arabian Sea - in Socotra Governorate.
The implemented projects included maintenance and furnishing of the Authority's office, digging a well powered by solar energy, afforestation and a boat model, and a meeting hall with a capacity of 250 people with its accessories, financed by the Agricultural and Fisheries Promotion Fund.
The Minister of Socotra stressed the Ministry's support for the implementation of the projects according to the priorities of the needs of the agricultural and fisheries sectors, noting that there are upcoming projects that will be implemented in the governorate, which will contribute to enhancing the capabilities of fishermen and farmers.
For his part, the Governor of Socotra pointed out to the importance of these projects in developing the infrastructure of the fisheries sector in the governorate, which will benefit the fishermen, stressing the importance of continuing the efforts at the same pace to complete the various projects.
