Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammar al-Eryani strongly condemned the heinous act of the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia in targeting the civil and military leadership of Taiz on Monday.
The Terrorist militia targeted Deputy Governor of Taiz for Defense and Security Affairs Brigadier General Abdulkarim al-Saberi, the Chief of Staff of the Taiz Axis, the Acting Commander of the Axis, Brigadier General Abdulaziz al-Majidi, the Commander of the 22nd Mechanized Brigade Brigadier General Mohammed al-Mahfadi, and the Director General of al-Qahira District Sameer Yahya Abdulelah, as well as a number of civilian, security and military leaders, who were on a congratulatory visit to the heroes of the National Army stationed in the old airport camp northwest of the city of Taiz.
Al-Eryani explained that the treacherous and cowardly attack, which resulted in the injury of the Director of al-Qahira District and four members of the National Army, occurred less than 500 meters from the road that was recently reopened (Camp - Republican Palace) road, after ten years of the unjust siege imposed by the Houthi militia on the governorate.
He pointed out that this attack, which occurred just meters away from the (Camp - Republican Palace) road, confirms once again that the Houthi militia has no covenant, no charter and no integrity, and reveals their hidden intentions to undermine the chances of a ceasefire and any steps aimed at alleviating the suffering and burdens of the citizens, and to assassinate the joy of the people of Taiz and all Yemenis by easing the unjust siege imposed by the militia on the governorate for nearly a decade.
Al-Eryani was surprised by the Houthi militia's targeting of civilian, military and security leaders in the area of the old airport camp and the vicinity of the old airport in al-Dumainah and Tebat al-Khazzan, which is the road that the Houthi terrorist militia is trying to open, instead of the main road (Usaiferah - al-Sitteen) that the local authority in Taiz had announced its opening a few days ago unilaterally, to facilitate the movement of trucks and the transportation of goods and merchandise to the city.
He called on the international community, the United Nations and its special envoy to Yemen to strongly condemn this heinous crime and all the Houthi militia's escalatory practices that are trying to drag the situation back to the square of war.
He also called on to immediately designate them as a terrorist organization and dry up their financial, political and media sources, and to focus efforts to support the government in imposing its control and establishing security and stability throughout the Yemeni territories.
