Mahra governor discusses with FAO, KSrelief interventions in agriculture, fishery sectors

Governor of al-Mahra governorate Mohammed Yasser held discussions today, Wednesday, with the Representative of the UN Agriculture and Food Organization (FAO) in Yemen Dr. Hussein Jadin and a delegation from Kings Salman Humanitarian and Relief Center (KSrelief) over humanitarian interventions to support fishermen, repair unloading fishery centers in the governorate.

Jadin explained the FAO's planned interventions including establishing two unloading fishery centers in the region of al-Fidmi and Hisween and supporting for over 3000 fishermen with safety kits, fish storages containers and repairing a number of fishery unloading centers.

He also noted that the FAO is set to carry out the project of Hawf Natural Protectorate, a project designed to preserve the natural resources of Hawf Natural Protectorate in al-Mahra governorate.

The project is funded by the Universal Environment Facility.
