Minister of Interior Maj. General Ibrahim Haidan discussed today, Thursday, in the interim capital Aden, with the French Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Katherine Corm Kammoun aspects of Yemeni-French security collaboration.
Haidan highly appreciated French government's support for the Yemeni government's efforts to make peace in Yemen.
He highlighted the need for further cooperation in the field of training the Yemeni security services amid current challenges and security threats the country has been facing.
The Minister touched upon the ministry's ongoing efforts to develop the works and procedures at the civil register and passport, migration and nationality authorities.
He cited the issuing the smart ID and the work on issuing the electronic visa and electronic passport as examples for ministry's plans to keep abreast with the developments in the security technologies.
The French Ambassador confirmed France's keenness to further boost security cooperation between the two countries.
