His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) underlined the announcement of the establishment of the Multinational Naval Defense Alliance led by Saudi Arabia, describing this move as a strategic initiative and a very important step to boost collective security, protect international navigation and secure vital sea routes in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Member of PLC al-Zubaidi receives UN envoy for Yemen

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Major General Aidarous al-Zubaidi received Thursday UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg.

The two parties discussed efforts exerted by international community and regional brothers to revive peace process, led by alleviating tensions in Yemen and the region, continuing efforts of regaining UN-led Truce across the country, measures of improving living conditions and putting an end to the accelerated economic collapse, as well as providing suitable conditions to resume the political process under the United Nations' sponsorship.

Al-Zubaidi reconfirmed support of the Presidential Leadership and the Government to efforts of realizing peace, confirming that the priority of the status quo is focusing efforts to deter Houthi aggression and foiling their threats to international navigation, which pose danger to national and international economy.
