Minister of Defense (Lt Gen) Mohssen al-Da'iri held discussions today, Thursday, with Ambassador of the Royal Netherlands to the Republic of Yemen Jennette Seppen over the developments in Yemen including Houthis' terrorist threats to maritime navigation and international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and Bab-el Mandeb.
General al-Da'iri said" We repeatedly warned brothers and friends of the Houthis' terrorist threats to the international shipping lanes, particularly as the Iranian regime's scheme seeks to take control over Bab-el Mandeb, but the international community's tolerance with the Houthis brought us to where were are now".
The Minister stressed that it is very important to support the internationally recognized government and it armed forces on the ground to be able defeat the terrorist Houthi militias and establish security and stability in the country, which will be reflected upon the security of the region and the world.
The Dutch Ambassador confirmed her country's support for the Yemeni people to establish sustainable peace.
She stated that the Houthis' attacks in the Red Sea and Bab- el Mandeb are unacceptable.
