National Committee for Women, UN official discuss efforts to improve women's situation in Yemen

The head of the National Committee for Wome Dr. Shafiqa Saeed discussed with the UN Women Yemen Country representative Dina Zorba strengthening ongoing and effective partnerships and activities that contribute to improving the situation of women in Yemen.

Dr. Shafiqa Saeed touched on the proposals for the activities that the committee seeks to implement, and the mechanism for activating policies and monitoring violations, pointing to the challenges facing the committee, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation between the committee and the United Nations in order to achieve their common goals in improving the situation of women in Yemen.

For her part, Dina Zorba affirmed UN Women’s support for the National Committee for Women in Yemen as it is the official mechanism concerned with women’s issues at the governmental level.
