The Yemeni national junior football team won for the second time the 10th West Asian Federation Junior Championship, after winning on penalties over the Saudi team (3-2).
The two teams had to go to the penalties kicks, after the two halves of the match ended in a draw with one goal each, in the match that brought them together today, Wednesday, at the Al Saada Complex Stadium in the Omani city of Salalah.
The Yemeni team opened the scoring in the 12th minute through player Abdul Rahman al-Khader, while the Saudi team equalized in the 76th minute through player Meshal Al-Dawood
The Yemenis repeated unforgettable victory in the cup in the eighth edition, held in the city of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, in late 2021, when they won the first title in the West Asian Football Federation tournaments
