Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fishery Salim Assoqatri engaged today, Sunday, in a symposium themed " Connection between Energy, Water & Food: Sustainable Solutions in the Correlation between Human Development and Peace".
The discussions held on the sideline of the United Nations 28th Conference on Climate Change (COP28) held in the United Arab Emirates. The symposium organized by Kuwaiti Fund for Development and the UNDP.
Assoqatri noted that Yemen despite the tough challenges and circumstances it is going through it has been handling the climate change challenges for a long time, but over the recent decades demands for water, energy and good has greatly increased and the crises exacerbated.
The Minister explained that the Yemeni government is keenly seeking to establish projects that can contribute to mitigate the crises through establishing water desalination stations in the coastal areas and finding renewable energy sources to provide the required energy needs.
