[26/11/2023 05:12]

Riyadh – Saba

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak received today the Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, David Gressly, to bid him farewell on the occasion of the end of his tenure in Yemen.

Bin Mubarak praised the efforts made by Mr. Gressly and his work team, especially the success they achieved in addressing the issue of the Safer oil tanker and sparing Yemen and the region the risk of a major environmental and humanitarian disaster.

During the reception, a number of humanitarian issues were discussed, the most important of which was the issue of dealing with landmines in accordance with a national decontamination and follow-up policy that ensures the continuity of this humanitarian activity to remove this danger planted by the Houthi militia.

The meeting touched on the importance of supporting the Yemeni government to deal with internal displacements resulting from Houthi persecutions and crackdowns on civilians, and the issue of migration from the Horn of Africa.
