Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdul Salam Humaid, opened here today the new premises of the General Authority for Maritime Affairs and of the Regional Center for Information Exchange within the building, following its rehabilitation, maintenance and modernization, as a result of the Houthi militia’s coup war on Aden in 2015, with funding from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). ).
The Minister said that the inaugurations of the General Authority for Maritime Affairs and the Regional Center for Information Exchange is an important achievement and gain for the government and the Ministry, as it includes 21 countries overlooking the western Indian Ocean, the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
He stressed that the Ministry is leading great efforts in modernizing, developing and maintaining all units and institutions affiliated with the transport sector, whether tn terms of reconstruction or rehabilitation and training for employees and reform efforts to overcome shortcomings and imbalances and work forward towards the path of construction, advancement and economic recovery.
