Al-Eryani seeks further cultural cooperation with France

Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammer al-Eryani held discussions today, Thursday, in the temporary capital Aden with the newly appointed French Ambassador Katherine Corm Kammoun over cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The conversations covered several topical issues including cultural relations and cooperation between Yemen and France over the past, challenges facing Yemeni intellectuals and Yemen's cultural heritage amid Iran-backed Houthi militias' coup and the Yemeni government's efforts to protect the county's antiquities.

Al-Eryani praised Yemeni-French cultural cooperation over the past, highlighting Yemen's need for France's support to sustain the Yemeni government's efforts to protect the Yemeni antiquities through a cooperation agreements as it happened with the American government in this regard.

The French Ambassador stated that France is keen to promote cultural ties with Yemen and to contribute to the Yemeni government's efforts to protect the cultural heritage.
