Minister of Information Muammar al-Eryani has warned of the consequences of Iran's recruitment of hundreds of Houthi militants from Yemen to Iran under the guise of scholarships to send them to the Revolutionary Guard's camps to train them in assembling ballistic and guided missiles and drones, and manufacturing landmines and explosive devices.

Defense Minister: Military very keen to ban children recruitment

Minister of Defense (Lt Gen) Mohssen Adda'iri has made it clear that the Yemeni military is very keen to prevent children recruitment." Yemen's children are our sons we're very keen to protect them, prevent their recruiting", he said, adding that the Law of Service in the Yemeni armed forces prohibits recruiting anybody under 18 year-old.

His statement came during his discussions today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden with a UN delegation headed by Virginia Gamba, the Special Representative of theUN Secretary General for Children and Armed Conflict.

General Adda'airi blamed Iran-backed Houthi militias for recruiting children in its criminal war on the Yemenis.

Ms. Gamba said that she is looking forward for further coordination and cooperation to ensure more protection for children.
