Assistant Deputy Minister of Planning and for International Cooperation Sector, Mansour Zaid and the Deputy Director of the UN World Food Program in Yemen discussed here today joint efforts between the two sides to overcome the challenges of lack of funding and for the program to continue providing its assistance during the coming period.
The meeting touched on the level of implementation of the UN program’s projects in a number of relief, humanitarian and development fields, and the importance of these projects to alleviate the suffering of the groups benefiting from them, especially in the areas most in need.
Zaid reiterated the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and international organizations regarding identifying needs, projects and targeted areas, as well as the Ministry of Planning’s keenness to provide all facilities to the organizations and overcome any difficulties that their interventions may face to ensure the success of project implementation.
Zaid, also discussed today, in Aden, with the Director of the ARC Organization in Yemen the level of the organization’s interventions in the agricultural and education sectors in a number of governorates, and the organization’s future projects.
Zaid stressed the importance of the organization’s interventions in the agricultural sector in the governorates of Aden, Abyan, Lahj, Al-Dhalea, and Hadramaut, as well as the importance of the organization’s support for the education sector through a 5-year educational program at a cost of $13 million.
