U.S. Treasury Sanctions 21 Individuals, Entities for Involvement in Financing Houthi Militias
The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Taiz governor discusses with US Ambassador lifting siege on Taiz

Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan discussed Wednesday with US Ambassador to Yemeni Steven Fagin a number of issues related to lifting siege on Taiz city and realizing peace.

Shamsan pointed out to conditions resulted from war and Houthi militia's siege on Taiz Province causing more humanitarian suffering.

He praised US support programs and projects provided by the United States and efforts exerted by the local authority of Taiz of repairing roads, regaining work in Makha Port and opening Makha International Port.

He called for exerting pressure on Houthi militia to open roads, end the war and surrender to international efforts and initiatives for realizing peace.

For his part, the US Ambassador confirmed his country's support to the file of transforming into sustainable development in Taiz, alleviating suffering of the people of the province and supporting all efforts for realizing peace and ending suffering of Yemeni people.
