President al-Alimi receives GCC Secretary General

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, along with Members of the Presidential Leadership Council Aidrus al-Zubaidi and Abdullah al-Alimi, received Thursday Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Mohammad al-Badwi.

President al-Alimi discussed with al-Badwi latest developments in Yemen and recent efforts of the mediation led by Saudi Arabia to renew the truce and building on it to release inclusive political process meeting aspirations of Yemeni people in peace, stability and development.

He touched upon Houthi militia's violations and its service-exchange with the terrorist organizations and needed international and regional pressures to end humanitarian suffering of the people.

President al-Alimi expressed gratitude and thanks to the GCC positions supporting Yemeni people and their constitutional legitimacy in different phases.

He also praised support of the GCC countries to the Presidential Leadership Council and to the government and all efforts for realizing peace and stability in the country on the bases of the three internationally agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council's Resolution 2216.

For his part, the Secretary General of GCC Jasem al-Badwi confirmed the firm position of the council on supporting efforts led by the UN to realize inclusive peace in Yemen on the bases of the three agreed upon references and implementing Riyadh Agreement's conditions.

Al-Badwi praised efforts of Saudi Arabia and Oman for protecting Yemen's unity, security, stability, territorial safety and independence, confirming support of the council to the Presidential Leadership Council to realize security and stability in the country.

He also confirmed significance of the strategic partnership between the council and the Republic of Yemen in all fields.
