The Council of Ministers devoted its session today, Monday, presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalilk to review the developments of the political, military, security and services situations in light of the recent developments and government's ongoing efforts to do its jobs and overcome the challenges.
The Prime Minister provided an overview about the latest developments in the national arena including the UN's efforts and international good offices aiming to establish peace amid Houthi militias' continuing intransigence and insistence on blocking all efforts to end the conflict, achieve peace.
The Cabinet discussed the Defense Minister's report about the military developments in view of the Houthi militias' military escalations.
Minister of Interior reported about the security developments and the ongoing efforts to establish security, stability, control smuggling and crack down the terrorist operatives.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates briefed the Cabinet on latest developments about the UN-led efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.
The Cabinet reiterated the government's desire to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable peace that based on the nationally, regionally and internationally agreed on terms of peace.
The Council of Ministers discussed a proposal of joint agreement to establish joint telecoms company to provide the mobile telephone and internet services in Yemen based on a draft agreement between the General Telecoms Corporation and an Emirati company.
The Cabinet has approved the draft of the proposed agreement and referred it to the Presidential Leadership Council.
