Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, received at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, today, Monday, the European Union Ambassador to Yemen Gabriel Viñals.
The two sides discussed developments in the political process and regional and international efforts aimed at ending the conflict and bringing peace to the country, the Houthi escalation on various fronts and its terrorist attacks that targeted oil export ports in Yemen.
They also reviewed ways and mechanisms to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the government were to develop formulate solutions to revive the deteriorating economic situation as a result of the Houthi attacks and terrorist attacks on oil export facilities.
In this regard, Major General Al-Zubaidi called on the European Union to intensify the humanitarian support provided to Yemen and to discuss with brothers in the Arab coalition countries to work to accelerate the launch of the financial grant to curb the deterioration of the local currency exchange and curb the mad rise in price of consumer goods.
The meeting passed on the positive results achieved by the east's arrows process in Abyan governorate, and the efforts made to stabilize the situation in Hadhramout Valley.
On his part, ambassador Viñals confirmed the EU's keenessto support the unity of the leadership council and the government and the UN led efforts to end war and bring peace in the region in general.
