Republican Decrees Appoint New Governors

Republican decrees were issued on Thursday appointing new governors for the governorates of Lahj, Abyan, and Al-Dhalea.

Republican Decree No. (7) of 2026 stipulates in Article One the appointment of Murad Ali Mohammed Abdulhai Al-Halemi as Governor of Lahj Governorate.

Republican Decree No. (8) of 2026 stipulates in Article One the appointment of Dr. Mukhtar bin Al-Khader Al-Rabash Al-Haithami Al-Maysari as Governor of Abyan Governorate.

Republican Decree No. (9) of 2026 appoints Brigadier Ahmed Qaid Saleh Qassem Al-Qobah as Governor of Al-Dhalea Governorate, Commander of the Al-Dhalea Axis, and Commander of the National Security Forces in the governorate.

The decree also promotes him to the rank of Major General.

Article Two of the decrees stipulates that they shall come into effect from the date of their issuance and publication in the official gazette.
