Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabu Miftah discussed Thursday with the Head of the Delegation of the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) Katharina Ritz the tragic humanitarian conditions of displaced families over Houthi militia's continuous shelling on their areas.
He made it clear that the displaced people in Marib, especially those families displaced recently from southern areas of Marib, have been experiencing difficult humanitarian situations and they are in need of emergency interventions to secure their basic needs; shelter, food and water.
He called upon the organization to double its interventions to fill the humanitarian gap over continuous displacing over Houthi militia's military escalation in southern districts of Marib.
For her part, the head of ICRC's mission praised efforts of the local authority and its success of receiving huge waves of displaced people and providing them with shelters and basic needs.
She made it clear that current situations in Marib require integration of all efforts to face challenges over displacing thousands of people in the province to alleviate their suffering.
She pointed out that the office of the organization in Marib will work on increasing and diversification of humanitarian interventions, providing cash assistances and needed protection programs to displaced people.
