A cooperation agreement was signed between the Public Works Project and the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities in Hadhramout to facilitate the implementation of restoration of damaged buildings and monuments in historical cities as funded by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The agreement concerns implementing projects to preserve the historic city of Shibam, enlisting qualified local expertise to prepare studies and supervise implementation of the required quality and preserve the architectural character of the city.
